Description
We supply and install all of
the leading makes of wood and
multifuel stoves and will use our knowledge and experience to recommend
the most appropriate stove for your requirements.
There are many makes of stove on the market - wood, multifuel,
oil or gas, steel or
cast iron, traditional or modern. We have numerous stoves on display in
our showroom which we feel represent the best in each of these categories. Some
are working models. Which one would best suit your needs, fit in with your
lifestyle and look good in your home? When you visit us bring along measurements of
the fire opening and the area which you want to heat. We can then recommend a
stove and give a guideline cost for supply and installation. Alternatively, for
those of you who wish to organise their own installation, we can advise you or
your builder on the flue requirements and regulations pertaining to
installation.
Wood is a wonderful source of environmentally friendly energy. One which is
renewable within a man's lifetime and when burnt produces no more carbon dioxide
than it would if left to decay on the forest floor. One over which you can have
a degree of control. Having sourced this 'environmentally friendly energy' we
must burn it in a way that produces maximum efficiency. Burning dry seasoned
wood in a stove can produce an efficiency rating of up to 80% - a far cry from
the open fire which is at best 10% efficient and in some cases can produce a
negative heat efficiency - the fire produces 5kw. to your room but loses 6kw. up
the chimney!
Smokeless coal - along with gas and oil - is a finite resource which is not
renewable and is therefore not environmentally friendly. It can however, prove
to be a more convenient energy source for some people, whose lifestyle is not
conducive to managing a wood supply. Most stoves do have a multifuel option
which allows the use of both coal and wood.
Gas and oil are two energy sources which are coming under increased pressure.
Our busy lifestyles make them popular because they are convenient and readily
available, however declining stocks and our reliance on foreign supplies is not
a thought that sits very well with many of us. Accepting the fact that we will
be obliged to rely on expensive and unreliable sources of these fuels for some
time to come, we must ensure that we burn these fuels as efficiently as
possible. Once again the stove comes to the fore! Stoves with a realistic flame
picture can still give you 85% efficiency and look superb in your fireplace.
As far as we are aware there is no stove on the market
that will burn nuclear fuel, so our recommendation would
be to.............. BURN WOOD NOT ATOMS!
